POWDER METALLURGY AND ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING. 3D PRINTING OF METALS.
This day took place at the IUT A of Villeneuve d'Ascq on the theme "POWDER METALLURGY AND ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING - 3D PRINTING OF METALS" and brought together 57 people from Belgium: Mons, Liège, Ghent, and from France through the regions of the east, the north of Paris, the Lyon region and the north of France.
After a general presentation on the various processes of additive manufacturing by Ms. Leriche, Mr. Baudouin of the company Höganäs highlighted the difficulties of obtaining the regularity of micro steel balls in the contribution of various gases and angles of projection of the latter.
Mr. Thiollier of LINDE showed the importance of controlling the percentage of oxygen to avoid altering the mechanical properties, with particular emphasis on the relative sensitivity of the sensors installed on the additive manufacturing machines.
Mr. Frechard from BEAM, drew attention to a new way of thinking about the design of parts with specific geometries while taking into account the manufacturing time and cost of these parts.
In the case of cutting tools used in the extractive industry, Mr. Renoirt of Diarotech, has shown that the life of these tools is related to the distribution of diamond particles in the metal matrix and their adhesion.
Ms. Auzène of CRIIT presented the different stages of a part obtained by sintering with the PIM and MIM processes while repositioning the fields of application of these 2 technologies.
In the final presentation by Mr. Deschuyteneer of INISMA CRIBC, the focus was on the thread repair properties that additive manufacturing could provide on threaded structures, or the realization of specific structures with different properties and coating surfaces.
