Educational objectives

  • Understanding the industrial process of steel manufacturing (steelworks, rolling, finishing) and product quality risks.

  • Understanding how to conduct an audit of a steel manufacturer: checking the key points of a special steel manufacturer from a technical perspective.

  • Acquire the basics of Non-Destructive Testing

  • Learn how to draw up specifications for special steel materials.  

PROGRAM

Day 1:

  • Steel production: refining, degassing, continuous casting, solidification structures, inclusion cleanliness, segregation, rolling, and finishing (principles of non-destructive testing).

Day 2 :

  • Define the criteria for drawing up specifications (chemical analysis, forging rate, grain size, inclusions, mechanical characteristics, Jominy, etc.).

  • Let's draw up your material specifications based on your specific case.
