Surface treatments by
wet process: properties and applications

Thursday, March 27, 2025
University of Mons (Belgium)

Wet material treatments are deposition or conversion processes that use immersion of the parts to be treated. Electrolytic treatments induce oxidation-reduction on the surface of parts by passing an electric current through an appropriate solution, while chemical treatments use baths that promote chemical reactions on the surface of treated parts. This day will provide an opportunity to present these techniques in detail, and to illustrate their contribution in terms of anti-corrosion surface properties, reinforcement and other specific properties, with the help of case studies.
