The A3TS, in collaboration with the Promosurf working group, is delighted to invite you to its study day, scheduled for September 19 at the Hôtel Diana in Molsheim (67). This meeting will highlight French and Belgian research projects. Thanks to a virtual broadcast, participants will have the opportunity to exchange and collaborate across borders.
We will also explore innovative surface treatment technologies in this constantly evolving sector. Finally, the day will conclude with visits to the IRT M2P in Duppigheim.

IRT M2P | Duppigheim site: a complete surface treatment sector
Thanks to its circle of industrial and academic partners, the Institut de Recherche Technologique Matériaux Métallurgie et Procédés (IRT M2P) pilots R&D programs coupled with technology platforms, developing key technological solutions shared by major industrial sectors, essential to maintaining French industrial competitiveness. Divided into 9 areas of expertise, its activities, spread over 4 sites (Metz, Uckange, Porcelette and Duppigheim), cover the entire production chain for metallic and organic matrix composite materials, from their elaboration to their recycling.
The equipment and processes available at the Duppigheim site enable the IRT M2P to offer a comprehensive range of surface treatments and coatings, from part preparation to the application of functional or aesthetic coatings for metal alloys, ceramics and polymers:
Modular, instrumented processing lines: 1 pilot line (60L) and 2 semi-industrial lines (150-300L | 600L);
An industrial-scale, fully-automated, humidity- and temperature-controlled painting platform for the application of spray coatings to parts with complex geometries;
The recirculation pilot is used for internal surface treatment, including chemical polishing of additive manufacturing parts;
Integrated application robot for special processes such as sol-gel coatings, spray treatments and chemical and electrolytic plasma polishing of selected metal parts from additive manufacturing;
Analysis and expertise laboratory for monitoring treatment baths and the physico-chemical characterization and functional performance of coatings produced on treatment lines.
Wet process surface treatment activities mainly concern the aerospace sector. Nearly 70 companies are currently involved in 14 projects with IRT M2P, with a budget of 29 million euros.
