MT01 - Operate vacuum heat treatment installations
Inter-company and intra-company courses
100% satisfaction by 2022
Educational objectives
Understand and use the knowledge necessary to implement vacuum heat treatments
PROGRAM
1. Knowledge of materials and treatments: why do we need to heat to specific temperatures and observe specific thermal cycles?
Heat treatments, general presentation
- General information on materials, transformations
The families of materials and their treatments
- Steels: General presentation, structural steels, stainless steels
Titanium and its alloys
Superalloys
2. How to carry out the treatments?
Concepts of heat transfer and its practical consequences
The treatment cycle
- Warming up, holding, levels, cooling
The treatment media and their action on the parts
3. Treatment under vacuum or neutral gas
The gaseous environment: properties, action of the main gases (nitrogen, argon, air) on materials, control of gases in the workshop
The void
- Characteristics, interaction with materials
- Vacuum production, vacuum pumps
- Anomalies and incidents: leaks, degassing, residual gases, pollution
- Vacuum control: gauges, leak controls...
Vacuum treatment furnaces
- Furnace equipment
Pyrometry controls. Notions on oven classes; temperature sensors; measurement, regulation and recording instruments; SAT and TUS
4. Practice of vacuum processing and daily monitoring
Checking before loading
- Material and documents, the constitution of the loads
Monitoring during treatment
Defournement, verification, control
Incidents of vacuum treatment. Possibility of demonstration on equipment
