  2. To know the different technologies that allow to obtain a surface treatment by wet process

  3. Understand the main industrial surface treatments

PROGRAM

1. What is the purpose of a surface treatment?

  • The limits of solid materials

  • A surface treatment to protect against what and/or improve what performance?

2. The different technologies to obtain a surface treatment and their operating principle:

  • Thermal and mechanical treatments

  • Diffusion treatments

  • Chemical and electrochemical conversion treatments

  • Coatings :

    - by electrolytic wet process

    - by coating (immersion and galvanization)

    - presentation of dry process techniques (no mechanisms)

  • Paints and varnishes

3. Thermal Spray Deposits

  • The principles of thermal spraying

  • The classic processes

  • Plasma assisted processes

4. Standard process for surface treatment: surface preparation
