3. Relationship between processes and residual stresses
Mechanical processes, thermal processes, thermochemical processes, machining, combined treatments, welding
4. Consideration of residual stresses in design
Fatigue, fracture (toughness), contact fatigue
5. Integrated approach to residual stress in manufacturing
Consideration in fatigue design, testimony of an industrialist
