The A3TS elects Fernand Da Costa as its president
March 25, 2026
At its Annual General Meeting, held on March 25, 2026, at the Mines Paris PSL Campus in Versailles, the A3TS Board of Directors elected Fernand Da Costa as the association’s new president.
As head of the Upstream Strategy Material Team (USMT/GSMA) at Renault, Fernand Da Costa comes from the automotive sector— a long-standing pillar of A3TS —and has been a member of the association for many years. His in-depth knowledge of the ecosystem and his dual expertise in materials strategy and the global industry make him a president who is naturally attuned to the values and challenges of our sector.
“Asthe new president of A3TS, I aim to embark on an ambitious phase of growth and expansion, while remaining true to the core values that make our association so strong. With a strong and dedicated team, and members who are actively involved in the life of A3TS, we will continue to foster human connections, strengthen our network, and collectively build the future.”
He succeeds Véronique Vitry, a professor and researcher at the University of Mons, who served as president of A3TS from 2020 to 2026. Under her leadership, the association navigated the post-COVID period with dynamism, launched MATTRIS by A3TS, and expanded its range of Qualiopi-certified training programs. Véronique Vitry remains actively involved with A3TS as Chair of the Training Council. We extend our heartfelt thanks to her for these six years of service to the sector.
